Tennis Nova Scotia is proud to present an upcoming spring Instructor Course:

Atlantic Tennis Centre, Bedford NS (24 spots) – THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL AND REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

Previously we were also offering one in Truro as well. However, due to the current restrictions we are combining the two courses at the ATC.

Instructors are trained to introduce players to the game using Progressive tennis in group lessons (1.0 – 2.5 level) at tennis clubs, parks, community courts and in school gyms. The mission of instructor course is to develop instructors who will stimulate players’ growth and retention, and promote tennis as a sport for life, by delivering a quality tennis program.

Commitment: 2 Weekends: Friday evening, all day Saturday, all day Sunday

Cost: $350 per person

Minimum Age: 16 years (may take course at 15 years and be evaluated, but can only be certified on or after 16th birthday)

Prerequisites: Minimum level of play: 3.0

Role in Industry: Beginning Instructor (Summer Camps, Park and Rec, Seasonal Clubs)

Community Tennis Facilitator workshops will be offered free of charge at the following dates and locations (with 1 hour lunch breaks):

Jun 10th 9.30am-3.30pm, Mahone Bay Tennis Club
Jun 14th 9.30am-3.30pm, Atlantic Tennis Centre, Bedford NS

Jun 17th 9.30am-3.30pm, Cromarty Tennis Club, Sydney NS
Community Tennis Facilitator training is a non-certification course, appropriate for anyone involved in tennis programming as a volunteer, coach, instructor, assistant or club administrator.
It equips participants to organize tennis practice and play activities using age and skill appropriate equipment – and emphasizes the importance of Quality Standards = FUN for growth and retention in tennis programs.

Spring Coaches’ Workshop
June 13th 2-5pm at Atlantic Tennis Centre
All (ALREADY CERTIFIED) coaches who will be teaching at member organizations this season should attend this workshop.
TNS offers it free of charge.

It is the main tool through which we facilitate coach preparation for the season, provide curriculum, resources, training updates and ensure that coaches are compliant with TPA requirements and Safeguarding Tennis.

The workshop is also a re-certification opportunity for coaches whose certification has expired.
