As the only and oldest tennis club in Sydney, it has not only survived the test of time but flourished, with a strong membership of more than 200, including a significant number of children.

Jim, a long-standing member of the club, reminisces about his 67 years at Cromarty Tennis Club. Having moved into the neighbourhood, Jim’s association with the club was a natural choice. He describes the club as an ideal destination for tennis lovers due to its picturesque location along Reservoir Brook, its courts that are perfectly aligned to minimize the impact of the wind, and its tranquil and welcoming atmosphere.

The club’s range of age groups, from 4-year-olds to 70-year-olds, presents a unique coaching challenge, but one that she thoroughly enjoys. She said the club actually connects generations because the club’s coaching programs are tailored to suit the needs of different age groups. For younger children, the focus is on developing fundamental skills and hand-eye coordination, while for teenagers, the emphasis shifts toward match play and skill refinement. The dedication of the seniors who come to the club at the crack of dawn to play is both inspiring and awe-inspiring.
