Hello Players,
This month, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) will be making enhancements to the ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) calculation, to help ensure that player ratings continue to be as accurate as possible. These changes may cause a significant change to a player’s ratings (in either direction).
The ITF World Tennis Number’s weekly calculation is now powered by data from over 80 nations, with more than 30 million match records from around the world.
As the ITF continues to receive data, the calculation is continuously monitored and tested. When necessary, the ITF enhances the algorithm to ensure it remains accurate. Please be aware that a change will take place on Wednesday September 11th, 2024. Click here to learn about how the change may affect your rating.
Your WTN may move in either direction. Your WTN was previously accurate within your cohort of players and will remain so with the enhancements. What may primarily change is your rating relative to players outside your cohort.
The WTN is designed to accurately reflect the ability of all players, and these changes will ensure players can always find a competitive match regardless of factors such as age and gender.
