In February, 2023, we introduced the Tennis Nova Scotia League. This began as a team competition where players compete (singles and doubles) against other players of a similar ability. In September, 2023, we tweaked the format slightly but the purpose remains the same.

The purpose of this league is to provide matchplay opportunities to players of all ages and abilities, in a more convenient timeframe than a weekend tournament. This is a brand new initiative which will continue to build our tennis community through social competition.

All matches will take place at the Sobeys Atlantic Tennis Centre and the cost of entry covers the court time, balls, and admin fees. All matches will be recorded on tournament software and will contribute towards each players’ WTN (World Tennis Number).

How it works:

1 Players enter the league by registering and paying here. All players must have a current TNS membership to compete. Players should be available for all dates (listed below).

2 Players should choose the most appropriate category based on their World Tennis Number (WTN) or self rating. Note that organizers may move players up or down a category if required based on numbers or suitability.

3 For doubles categories, players should register as a doubles team. If a player would like to play but doesn’t have a partner, they should select ‘partner required’ and we will try to match them up with one.

4 After the entry deadline (Tuesday February 27th, 4pm), players will be placed into their final groupings and play matches against the other players in their group – round robin style. Organizers will send out communications detailing your match schedule.

5 Show up and play your matches! The results will contribute towards your WTN. Please do not enter the league if you know you are going to miss any weeks.
