Premier Stephen McNeil Tours Atlantic Tennis Centre and Discovers the Game of Wheelchair Tennis
Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil recently made a trip to tour the new Atlantic Tennis Centre and had the chance to participate in a game of wheelchair tennis. As part of the effort to create inclusive and accessible opportunities for players, competition wheelchairs and instruction are available weekly. Head coach Marijke Nel is seeing a growing interest in the sport and loves to see more people participate. “I love seeing these players with more access to court time and discovering their abilities in the sport of tennis. It’s truly a sport that anyone can get out and enjoy.”
The Provincial Government committed $2.5M to Atlantic Tennis Centre in the interest of growing the sport in the province and region.
